I am primarily concerned with understanding how you are experiencing life in the ‘here and now’ including the problems you are facing, and we begin from this starting point. Therapy is a collaborative and dynamic relationship between two willing people and no two therapies are the same. You are the expert on your life, and my job is to help you make sense of the things you feel, the stories you carry, the obstacles you face.
I work with: depression, anxiety, suicide and suicidal ideation, addictions and compulsions, OCD, social media anxiety, domestic abuse, trauma, mental health support, supporting wellbeing, grief and bereavement, loss, low self-esteem, confidence, stress, burnout, identity issues, relationships, meaning making.
How much does it cost?
My fees are an affordable investment in your mental health and wellbeing, reflecting local rates. My current fees for 19/20 are:
Online counselling & coaching (video or voice-only) £40-50 per 55-minute session (Initial session bookable online £35)
Outdoor therapy £50 per hour session (coaching and counselling)
Face-to-face (indoors) £45 per 55-minute sessions
(I am a accredited registered, insured member of the National Counselling Society, and receive regular clinical supervision)
I only currently offer weekly therapy (unless there is exceptional reasons to do fortnightly) and this is to maintain therapeutic momentum. After our intial session I will invite you to consider if you can commit to weekly sessions together (not including holidays that we all need!) and if not, suggest that we begin counselling when you have more time.
The value of face-to-face counselling speaks for itself, but clinical research suggests that online counselling is as effective for supporting clients with emotional and mental health difficulties, whilst also being the most affordable option for many. This option will also suit busy people (work/family commitments etc.), non-local and international clients, and differently-abled individuals who might otherwise find it difficult to make a face to face appointment.
